A Special woman having lived well into her 90’s, had quite a collection of jewelry dating back many years. When she passed away, her daughter had no idea what to do which it all, and handed me the jewelry box full of jewelry. Taking pieces from bracelets and incorporating stick pins, charms and earrings as well as chains and beads, this creation truly came to symbolize years of her Mothers life. As the daughter reminisced about each of the pieces and when her mother had worn them over the years this wearable piece of art touched my heart as well. You see, this was my next door neighbor. The house where my daughters cut the grass and visited with cookies. What a blessing to be a part of preserving her memory not only in a creation but with the sharing of the story and pictures. Miss ya Liz!
Don’t throw out that old, broken or untrendy jewelry! Repurposing old jewelry into new creations is fun and can also preserve memories from a special time, place or relationship.
