Headed to Nashville, my kids are wondering if there is any possible chance I would run into Carrie Underwood (a favorite in our household). I am prompted to make her something as a thank you for being such an incredible role model for our children as well as a very talented musician that I enjoy listening to.
As I began to create what I thought would be perfect earrings for Carrie (big and round bold circles) I kept breaking them….One after another (and with my precious, very limited supply of Blood wood!) So one night I am awakened to a design for the earrings. So I made the earrings as pictured and off to Nashville I went.
Mind you I had pictures and letters in hand from my girls addressed to Carrie Underwood. I did not end up seeing her, however we toured the Grand Ole Opry where they explained that Carrie Underwood had her own mail box. Rather than go home with the letters to Carrie and her gift I took a leap of faith and had them put them in her box. This is one of those times that I was obedient to the calling of my heart, but to this day I do not know if the creation I made for her or the letters from my kids ever really made it into her hands…..and I am okay with that, because the most important thing is that I followed my heart to bless someone, and followed through with it regardless of the outcome.
